The Trump administration’s initiative to effectively replace struck-down IEEPA tariffs by turning to Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 took a step forward as the U.S. Trade Representative proposed the imposition of duties on 60 countries and economies based on a determination that they haven’t sufficiently addressed forced labor issues.
