IHA Webinar To Examine Proposed ‘Forced Labor’ Tariffs, Other Trade Developments

The International Housewares Association (IHA) will host a webinar on June 17 to provide members with an update on new tariff developments, including proposed Section 301 actions targeting imports from 60 economies.

Scheduled for 1 p.m. Central, the webinar will feature IHA’s Washington, D.C.-based government affairs representatives Craig Brightup and Rafe Morrissey, who will discuss the U.S. Trade Representative’s proposed Section 301 tariffs related to alleged failures by 60 economies to enforce laws prohibiting the importation of forced-labor goods.

The webinar also will examine USTR’s separate Section 301 investigations into 16 economies regarding excess manufacturing capacity, as well as recent legal developments involving potential refunds of tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act and the temporary Section 122 tariffs that replaced them.
