Walmart Dives Into Savings Season on July 8 with Deals Event

Posted In: Retail Articles

In a leap into the summer promotional wave, Walmart announced that its Deals event would launch online at 12 a.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday, July 8, and in stores on the same date at local opening times, continuing through Sunday, July 13.

The six-day sale will counter the annual Amazon Prime Day promotion, that company’s major bargain event of the year, and those from other retailers getting ready to splash into the savings surf. As is frequently the case on such occasions, the Walmart summer Deal event will encompass a wide range of products but also will act as a kick-off to the back-to-college/off-to-college selling season and, so, incorporate a range of bargains focused on the occasion. So, overall, Deals shoppers can check out thousands of deals across home, fashion, toys, beauty and electronics, Walmart noted, as well as designated back-to-school/back-to-college merchandise. Brands Walmart will feature in the event include Samsung, Dyson, Vizio and Sharpie.

Walmart’s online Deals preview points to savings of up to 35% on floorcare, 40% off outdoor products and 40% off furniture.

In 2025, for the first time, Walmart will run its Deals event both in stores and online, offering more flexibility for customers to shop the way they want, the company maintained, whether that’s a quick in-store run, curbside pickup or delivery to their doorstep. Members of the retailer’s paid loyalty program, Walmart+, get exclusive early access beginning Tuesday, July 7 at 7 p.m. Eastern Time.

“From barbecues to back-to-school, we know this is a busy shopping season for our customers, which is why we’re excited to bring back the Walmart Deals event,” said Megan Crozier, Walmart U.S. executive vice president, general merchandise. “As customers look to save on both the items that they want and need this season, this summer’s event will feature a wider selection of products, including wellness finds and everyday essentials. We also know families are continuing to shop earlier for the new school year, so we’ve brought back deals on first-day essentials to help customers save more when it matters most.”
