Best Buy has launched a marketplace, doubling the number of items available to shoppers and adding new brands and product categories that will expand the availability of home merchandise among other segments, the company announced.
Accessible through BestBuy.com and the retailer’s app, the marketplace encompasses the largest ever expansion of Best Buy’s product assortment, the company maintained. Best Buy is integrating marketplace products across all digital operations so the customers can explore and shop from fresh merchandise options in categories such as office and home, seasonal decor, automotive tech, and movies and music. Best Buy also plans to introduce licensed sports merchandise to its marketplace lineup.
On the home front, Best Buy is adding a wider selection of small appliances and kitchen essentials from brands such as Oster, Crock-Pot, Martha Stewart, Zulay Kitchen and Cuckoo, as well as floor care merchandise from Tineco and Eufy, among other labels. Best Buy will triple its furniture portfolio via the marketplace with products such as TV stands and office desks, gaming chairs and sofas, coffee tables and barstools, gazebos and pergolas, and patio furniture.
Customers who purchase marketplace merchandise have the option of returning goods through Best Buy stores or shipping them back to the seller. In-store, Best Buy employees are ready to offer recommendations on marketplace products and build out online shopping carts with customers from the expanded online assortment, the company noted.
