Target Corp. has added new technology designed to help make holiday shopping a more satisfying, personalized experience.
Target has developed an AI-powered tool to make finding and purchasing gifts and other holiday needs simpler while offering inspiration at the same time, the company stated.
With a new, conversational AI-powered Target Gift Finder, consumers can work down their shopping lists by typing in details about the gift recipient or celebratory occasion. With that, the Gift Finder delivers tailored suggestions consumers can use to make final choices.
To help keep things organized, the new Target List Scanner can lift a handwritten draft into the company’s app and add items directly into their carts.
In addition, Target is providing smart navigation. Guests shopping brick-and-mortar locations can employ the newly enhanced Store Mode in the app. The Store Mode feature automatically activates when consumers with the app enter the store, then guides them through the aisles as they seek out products. If an item isn’t available, Store Mode connects consumers to alternate fulfillment methods, including same-day or next-day delivery in eligible markets.
To add novelty to efficiency, shoppers using Store Mode can join in a Find Bullseye hunt for the Target mascot and collect a holiday sticker at checkout as a perk. While using the app in-store, virtual animated helpers will guide shoppers through app features, telling jokes and otherwise making the shopping trip merrier, Target said.
“We know so many of our guests love shopping our stores with their phones in hand, and when they use the Target app in-store, their basket sizes are nearly 50% higher as they discover more of what they love,” said Cara Sylvester, Target chief guest experience officer. “We’re committed to making the shopping experience this year even more connected, personal and intuitive, with innovations that help guests discover the hottest items and Target products they love at a great deal. It’s all about meeting them where they are, simplifying gift-giving and helping families focus more on the joy of the season.”
