Target has released a fall store opening schedule that includes seven new stores in Arizona, California, Florida, Nebraska, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia, with the focus on larger footprints; six of the new locations will top out over the 125,000-square-foot chain average.
The openings contribute to a Target initiative to open 300 new stores over the next decade, the company stated. In addition to in-store shoppers, the new locations allow Target to reach more consumers through its stores-as-hubs business model, where stores serve as both shopping destinations and fulfillment hubs. Company stores fulfill 95% of digital orders, including same-day delivery services via Target Circle 360, which currently reaches 80% of the United States population.
Officially opening on October 12, Target noted, the new stores include:
- Arizona. A 146,000 square foot store located in Queen Creek.
- Florida. A 149,000 square foot store in Wesley Chapel
- Nebraska. A 148,000 square foot store in Grand Island
- South Carolina. A 149,000 square foot store located in Indian Land
- Virginia. A 148,000 square foot store in Sterling
Additionally, on October 19, Target plans to open a 148,000-square-foot store in Fresno, CA and a 125,000-square-foot store in Stafford, TX.
