Kohl’s Multi-Channel Back-to-School Campaign Spotlights Dorm Necessities

Back-to-school and -college season is coming into swing, and Kohl’s is addressing trends popular with young people by providing school and dorm necessities for the year ahead, including thousands of products priced at less than $25.

Kohl’s is offering curated, style-led displays, clear signage and new digital tools to make back-to-school shopping easier, the company asserted., The retailer reported it designed a new AI-powered shopping assistant to give customers personalized product guidance, inspiration and recommendations in the selling season.

For students off to college, Kohl’s is ready with dorm essentials, including bedding, towels, storage and décor from brands like The Big One, Caro Home and Laura Ashley, as well as a new Peanuts Joe Cool collection, the company stated. In addition, Kohl’s has stocked kitchen electrics and portable vacuums priced at $20 and lower. Then, Kohl’s Deal Bar features organization solutions, food storage, desk accessories and room décor for $10 or less.

To engage consumers, Kohl’s is launching a marketing campaign under the heading “We are so back (to school).” It features new broadcast television advertising set to Charli XCX’s high-energy track “B2b” and the return of Kohl’s Mom, portrayed by actress Ellie Kemper. Beyond the screen, the company plans to debut the Kohl’s So-Back Studio in New York City during August as an immersive pop-up experience that will provide product customization, interactive content creation and exclusive shopping incentives. Kohl’s will also provide a taste of the experience to shoppers across the United States through sweepstakes and social extensions available throughout the back-to-school season.

Kohl’s currently features Back to School and College Essentials on its website landing page, with products ranging from, for example, Conair Compact Fabric Steamer Fast Heat-Up With Bonus Bristle Brush, price reduced to $21.24, to a GreenPan Dover 10-inch PFAS-Free Healthy Ceramic Nonstick Frypan, price reduced to $29.99.

By focusing on the brands and styles kids are excited to wear and delivering the quality and value parents expect, we’re making sure families can count on Kohl’s for what they need most.”
