EBay finished its third quarter with solid gains as the company continued the integration of the newly acquired Depop operation and enhanced consumer engagement resources for sellers.

For the quarter, eBay net income from continuing operations was $501 million, or $1.11 per diluted share, versus $593 million, or $1.27 per diluted share, in the year-previous period, the company reported. Adjusted for one-time events, net income was $685 million, or $1.51 per diluted share, versus $633 million, or $1.35 per diluted share, in the quarter a year before.

EBay beat a Zacks Investment Research analyst consensus earnings estimate of $1.43 per adjusted diluted share with revenue topping the assessment by 2.85%.

EBay reported net revenue of $3.21 billion versus $2.82 billion in the year-prior quarter. Operating income was $616 million versus $571 million in the year-earlier period.

Gross merchandise volume was $23.2 billion, up 15% on an as-reported basis and 16% on a foreign exchange-neutral basis year over year.

As to guidance, eBay’s outlook for the full fiscal year is for revenues of $12.62 billion to $12.67 billion and diluted adjusted earnings per share of $6.25 to $6.30.

In pointing to third-quarter business highlights, eBay reported that integration of the recently acquired Depop operation was proceeding, with improvements in homepage discovery and listing flow, and that the company continued to enhance its live shopping function by introducing new multistreaming capabilities. The new resources let sellers broadcast simultaneously across eBay Live and social platforms, and they aim to strengthen trust by adding new seller features, including AI-powered moderation of chat, audio, and video, and enhanced content screening.

In October, eBay released its sixth annual Recommerce Report, indicating that 47% of consumers purchase secondhand goods at least monthly, up from 35% in 2025. The company asserted that this underscores the growing adoption of secondhand shopping worldwide.

“EBay’s strong third quarter results reflect continued momentum across our business priorities and customer segments as more consumers embrace recommerce,” said Jamie Iannone, eBay chief executive officer  “Our focus categories, C2C marketplace and recommerce leadership are driving strong, sustained growth, while innovations across eBay Live, shipping, and our portfolio are making the platform more trusted, seamless, and compelling for buyers and sellers around the world.”

Peggy Alford, eBay CFO, added. “Our third-quarter results demonstrate that eBay’s strategy is delivering strong GMV growth and meaningful earnings expansion. By investing with discipline in our highest strategic priorities and focusing on the areas where we have a clear competitive advantage, we are positioning eBay for durable, profitable growth and long-term shareholder value.”
