Bed Bath & Beyond is honoring the banner’s famous blue coupons in a promotion that extends into its combo stores with The Container Store and its Kirkland’s Home operation.
The Legendary Coupon Hunt is a 21-day event running June 22 through July 13 that aims at uncovering the oldest surviving Bed Bath & Beyond coupon in the United States while offering consumers the chance to win a $100,000 home transformation.
The company is banking on an old consumer habit of squirreling away Bed Bath & Beyond coupons, sometimes for years. The promotion gives consumers a chance to bring any old blue coupon to participating locations including Bed Bath & Beyond + The Container Store and Kirkland’s Home nationwide. The coupons can have expired, faded or sat idle for decades. The stores will still honor them, Bed Bath & Beyond maintained. But that isn’t all. Coupons will be the point of entry to a sweepstakes offering the $100,000 home transformation as well as 500 $100 gift cards and 50 $100 gift cards.
The Home Transformation winner, the company pointed out, will be able to tap the assortments available at Bed Bath & Beyond and The Container Store as well as Kirkland’s Home. However, the winner also can select products from Bed Bath & Beyond’s Lumber Liquidators and Cabinets To Go operations.
Bed Bath & Beyond will support The Legendary Coupon Hunt through a national media partnership with iHeartMedia, social creators, national press outreach and its own social and digital channels, to create a coast-to-coast search for forgotten coupons while giving consumers a reason to reconnect with a brand they grew up shopping.
