QVC’s Garnet Hill banner is going into the resale business, and it’s sticking with its own goods.
The banner, which produces home goods and apparel that incorporate natural fibers, is launching Garnet Hill Second Nature, a resale marketplace that will enable customers to buy preused products bought through its retail operation.
Garnet Hill Second Nature arrives in time for Garnet Hill’s 50th anniversary in operation.
The second-hand operation reflects the brand’s enduring commitment to quality, sustainability and timeless style, the QVC division stated. Its customers are interested in extending the life of well-loved products, and Garnet Hill Second Nature creates a new way for customers to buy and sell, a function that’s coming soon, used items while supporting a more circular future, the banner noted.
Garnet Hill Second Nature rolls out with a curated assortment of the banner’s preowned inventory, including accessories, quilts, blankets and apparel. Each item is inspected, refreshed and restored by Tersus Solutions, which uses carbon dioxide technology that cleans items to rigorous standards through a chemical free, waterless process, Garnet Hill maintained. Garnet Hill added it developed the platform it is using for the second-hand operation in partnership with Archive, a technology provider that helps build resale businesses for high-quality brands.
“For 50 years, Garnet Hill has created products designed to be lived in, loved and passed on,” said Connie Hallquist, Garnet Hill president. “Garnet Hill Second Nature is a natural extension of that legacy giving our customers a trusted way to pass along favorite pieces and help them find a new home. By keeping quality products in circulation, they can be enjoyed for years to come and it’s better for the planet.”
