Walmart remains atop the National Retail Federation Top 50 Global Retailers ranking, well ahead in revenue of second-ranked Amazon.
Of the Top 10, five are companies based in the United States. The Top 10 in the Global Retailer report, based on points, are Walmart, U.S.A.; Amazon, U.S.A.; The Schwarz Group (Lidl), Germany; Aldi, Germany; Costco, U.S.A.; Alhold Delhaize, The Netherlands; Carrefour, France; Ikea, The Netherlands; Home Depot, U.S.A; and Walgreens Boots Alliance, U.S.A.
Here is the overall Top 10 retailers listed by revenue:
- Walmart, $692 billion
- Amazon, $422 billion
- Costco, $266 billion
- Schwarz Group, $189 billion
- Aldi, $166 billion
- Home Depot, $162 billion
- Walgreens Boots, $127 billion
- Ahold Delhaize, $103 billion

The next 15 up by overall ranking were Seven & I, Japan; Rewe, Germany; Jeronimo Matins, Portugal; AS Watson, Hong Kong; Apple, U.S.A.; Inditex, Spain; Metro AG, Germany; Tesco, United Kingdom; TJX, U.S.A.; Alibaba, China; Aeon, Japan; H&M, Sweden; Auchan, France; Intermarche, France; and Coop Schweiz, Switzerland.
In revenue terms, Apple was at $85 billion, Alibaba was at $76 billion, Rewe and Tesco were at $73 billion each, Aeon was vat $70 billion, Seven & I was at $66 billion, and TJX was at $59 billion,
