Ikea Touts Treasure-Hunt Shopping in New Marketing Campaign

Posted In: Retail Articles

Ikea is rolling out a marketing campaign that emphasizes the treasure-hunt aspect of its superstore approach to innovative design and value-priced furniture and housewares.

The company is underscoring its frequent new-collection rollouts throughout the year to attract the same consumer segments that have helped off-price retailers and warehouse clubs grow.

The campaign, Ikea noted, builds on its “Dream the Possibilities” brand platform, rooted in the proposition that home-outfitting dreams are built one piece at a time. Introduced in September 2025, “Dream the Possibilities” focused on how Ikea can help consumers create homes that feel uniquely their own, while highlighting the company’s commitment to helping people shape their dream homes through accessible design. In effect, the new campaign presents consumers with the idea that they can keep returning to discover what’s new at Ikea and find inspiration to personalize their homes at affordable prices.

In the campaign video, “Knock Your Socks Off,” shoppers move through an Ikea showroom in slow motion as socks mysteriously fly through the air around them as they discover new products and affordable prices. The finds are so exciting that, in the narrative, they literally knock the shoppers’ socks off. An Ikea staffer in the video playfully explains it “happens all the time.”

The campaign includes a Spanish-language component, “Te Mueve El Piso,” inspired by an expression used to describe the feeling that happens when something is so exciting, it feels as if the ground has shifted.

The Ikea campaign spotlights a selection of new and refreshed products across furniture, lighting, textiles, storage and home accessories. They are presented in a way that suggests that new doesn’t have to mean starting from scratch, and that one unexpected color, pattern, product, or practical solution can make a familiar space feel refreshed, according to Ikea.

The English- and Spanish-language campaign elements are launching across cable, streaming and sporting programs, as well as billboards and paid social.

“People may have their Ikea favorites, but there is always something new waiting to be discovered,” said Shideh Hashemi, Ikea U.S. chief marketing officer. “Our range is constantly evolving to reflect the way people live today, with new colors, designs and smart solutions that bring both function and personality into the home. With this campaign, we hope to spark curiosity and remind people that every visit to Ikea is an opportunity to explore and discover something new.”
