Posted In: Retail Articles

Target is bringing in about 8,000 new holiday gift items this season, more than half of which are retailer-exclusive, including a dedicated home assortment.

The holiday gift initiative is one of several that Target is introducing and includes AI shopping assistance and a new marketing campaign.

The gift program showcases seven categories: Family Style, Family Fun, Beauty Destination, Food & Beverage, Wellness, Baby & Toddler, Home for the Holidays. The Home grouping includes a range of goods, from furniture to seasonal decor. A designated Holiday Entertaining presentation within Home for the Holidays features modern chalet and cottage-inspired tablescapes and decor starting at $5. Under its Threshold private label, Target has stocked home fragrance gifts from $5, including holiday-specific capsules developed with partners Capri Blue and Pura, the company added. For the kitchen, Target has lined up more than 200 new Threshold products to help with hosting and holiday prep.

The Christmas Dining and Entertaining product selection includes curated assortments of glassware, serveware, kitchen linens, and mugs. The company highlighted a variety of specific items in Christmas Dining and Entertaining, such as a 15-ounce Christmas Holly mug for $7.99 (pictured above); a Hearth & Hand with Magnolia Stripe Flour Sack kitchen towel in a red and green stripe pattern for $4.99; a Hearth & Hand with Magnolia Glass Pedestal Candy Dish for $14.99; a set of four Threshold Cassin Mixed Champagne glasses for $20; and a four-pack of John Derian for Target Christmas Appetizer Plates for $25.

In the Christmas Dining and Entertaining section of the website, Target ran banner ads for the Keurig K Supreme coffee maker, linking to a deal for $109.99, down from $169.99.

Target reported, most of its new gift items are priced at $20 or less, including thousands $5 and under.

In its key consumer outreach initiative, Target is rolling out a new “Academy of Giftology” holiday marketing campaign. The campaign, which will kick off in November, focuses on how Target can help shoppers find gifts that excite both the giver and the recipient.

In addition, Target has launched an AI-powered shopping component, daily deals and early Black Friday savings.

“Ask Target,” the AI shopping assistant, is available in beta on the company’s website and app. The company designed the AI feature to make shopping easier for consumers looking for inspiration and help narrowing their choices, it noted.

Guests can shop a new Deal of the Day November 1-December 24. Early Black Friday deals run November 5–7, followed by new limited-time offers every weekend throughout the holiday season.
