Target Corp. reported the appointment of former hospitality executive Mark Weinstein as chief marketing and guest experience officer, coinciding with an announcement that the Target Circle Deal Days promotion is set for early October.

Target pointed out that Weinstein will play a critical role in the company’s growth strategy, elevating how consumers experience and connect with the company’s brand. He was global chief marketing officer at Hilton before taking the Target job.

With the move, Target added, Weinstein will shape a more connected experience across all the ways people engage with the operation, from discovery and shopping to presentation in culture and communities. He will also oversee Roundel, Target’s retail media network, as well as Target+, its curated marketplace. Lisa Roath, chief marketing officer previous to Weinstein’s appointment, left that position to become the retailer’s chief merchandising officer of food, essentials and beauty, then COO, her present assignment.

“As we continue writing the next chapter at Target, deepening how we know and engage our guests will be critical to our success,” Fiddelke said. “Mark (Weinstein) has a proven ability to understand what consumers value and turn those insights into brand connections that feel relevant and personal. His leadership will help us elevate the guest experience across every interaction with Target, deepening existing relationships, welcoming new guests and driving continued growth.”

The latest Target Circle Deal Days event will run from October 6–7. It will afford members of the free-to-join Target Circle loyalty program a chance to shop the latest fall styles and get an early start on holiday gifting with prices up to 40% off across thousands of products including home decor, kitchen gadget, beauty, toys, tech and apparel items, the company maintained.

The Circle Deal Days promotion will deliver homewares deals on exclusive and national brands, including 30% off Threshold furniture and Hearth & Hand with Magnolia bedding, bath, candles and furniture; and up to 40% off select Dyson vacuums. Target also will take 30% off fall woven baskets, select storage and kitchen gadgets in addition to 40% off seasonal outdoor decor and lights.

“Guests are looking for ways to save as they swap summer wardrobes for cozy layers, refresh their homes for fall and start checking gifts off their holiday shopping lists,” stated Sarah Travis, Target executive vice president and chief digital and revenue officer. “Helping guests celebrate the season with great style, thoughtful design and incredible value is what we do best. Target Circle Deal Days is our way of saying thank you to members while helping them save even more on the styles and brands they love.”
