As Ollie’s Bargain Outlet marks National Bargain Hunting Week, a new shopper survey from the off-price retailer indicates that inflation and rising prices remain major concerns for its customers.
Ollie’s polled 60,000 of its Ollie’s Army loyalty program members and found:
- 85% said they are extremely or very concerned about inflation and rising prices.
- 84% said inflation has at least moderately impacted their personal household finances.
- 88% said bargain finds are absolutely essential or very important to their household budget.
Respondents said inflation has had the greatest impact on their purchases of groceries, gasoline, household essentials, clothing and shoes, and restaurant meals. Ollie’s added that 82% said they always or often tell friends and family when they find a great deal.
As part of National Bargain Hunting Week, Ollie’s is promoting deals online and in stores, including a Homedics Rechargeable Handheld Vac for $19.99.
“Families are looking for ways to stretch every dollar,” said Eric van der Valk, Ollie’s president and CEO. “We’re proud to help them save their hard-earned money without sacrificing the brands they know and love. Great bargains are meant to be shared. More than eight in 10 shoppers tell friends and family when they find a great deal, and we’re proud to celebrate those savings every day at Ollie’s, the official destination of National Bargain Hunting Week.”
As of May 2, Ollie’s operates 672 stores across 36 states.
