Kirkland’s Continues Transformation with Executive Appointments

Posted In: Retail Articles

Kirkland’s announced another round of executive appointments to support its strategic shift to a multi-banner retailer under a new corporate identity, The Brand House Collection.

The company stated the new identity reflects the operation’s reinvention into a multi-brand merchandising, supply chain and retail operator leading the brick-and-mortar strategy for Kirkland’s Home and partner Beyond’s growing portfolio of home and family brands, including Bed Bath & Beyond, Overstock and buybuy Baby. Kirkland’s plans to assume the new corporate name after its annual meeting on July 24, pending shareholder approval.

Andrea Courtois will join the company as senior vice president, CFO, effective July 21. Courtois is succeeding Mike Madden, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities but will remain in an advisory position until August 15 to facilitate a smooth transition, according to Kirkland’s. Courtois was vice president of financial planning and analysis at apparel and accessories retailer Francesca’s and, before that, she held financial leadership roles at La Senza, Lane Bryant and Lands’ End.

Michael Sheridan has joined Kirkland’s as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, supervising legal affairs, talent and culture and corporate governance. During an interim role with Kirkland’s in recent weeks, Sheridan became an advisor to the CEO and leadership team, the company noted. Sheridan’s experience includes acting in legal and executive leadership roles at Community Brands, Ceridian and Comdata.

In addition, Kirkland’s promoted Mandy Gauldin to vice president, talent and culture. She has been a leader in the company’s human resources organization for eight years, and she previously held diverse, customer-facing team leadership roles in the consumer and retail sectors at California Closets and Estee Lauder.

“Today’s leadership announcements reflect continued momentum in advancing our transformation,” Amy Sullivan, Kirkland’s CEO. “We are building a disciplined, performance-led, multi-brand operating model designed to scale profitably. As we evolve, we will continue to elevate talent, recognizing the leaders who are driving change from within and bringing in the expertise we need to go further, faster. The team we are building brings a powerful mix of fresh perspectives and deep expertise, united by a clear mandate: move faster, lead with accountability and drive meaningful outcomes.  As The Brand House Collective, we’re raising expectations and building an organization that delivers results brand by brand.”
