Wayfair announced plans to open a namesake store in Altamonte Springs, FL, in 2028, marking its 10th superstore as it continues to build out its omnichannel strategy.
The 85,000-square-foot, single-level store in the Orlando metropolitan area will bring Wayfair’s curated shopping format to Central Florida consumers while representing a new advance in the company’s omnichannel development.
The Altamonte Springs store (rendering above) will boost the Wayfair superstore portfolio to 10 locations across the United States, demonstrating the company’s continued investment in giving customers more ways to discover, shop and experience what the furnishings retailer offers, Wayfair maintained.
Each store serves as an entryway into Wayfair’s expansive online catalog, the company added, combining a curated, in-person shopping experience with e-commerce convenience. Customers can explore staff-assessed Wayfair Verified products organized by room and style and work with on-site design experts on home projects. The Altamonte Springs location, as is the case with other Wayfair superstores, will offer take-home items and products, tending toward the larger, for delivery through the company’s logistics network.
Wayfair noted its growing store portfolio delivers an opportunity for physical retail to introduce new customers to the brand while strengthening engagement across channels. At its first store, positioned in metro Chicago, the company has experienced a strong halo effect, it stated, with more than half of customers who visit being new to the brand. Insights from Wayfair stores continue to inform operations, from assortment and merchandising to services and the overall customer experience, as the company scales its physical retail component.
“Reaching our 10th store is an exciting milestone for Wayfair and a testament to the momentum we’re seeing as we bring our brand to life,” said Liza Lefkowski, Wayfair vice president of merchandising and stores. “With each new store, we’re learning more about how customers want to shop for their homes and how our physical and digital experiences can work together. Orlando is a great market for this next chapter, and we’re excited to introduce the Wayfair store experience to the community.”
Wayfair superstores operate in Wilmette, IL; Atlanta, GA; and Columbus, OH, with upcoming locations set to open in Denver, CO; Westchester, NY; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Cincinnati, OH; Princeton, NJ; and Pittsburgh, PA.
