Best Buy plans to introduce a TikTok shop in October, offering some 10,000 products suited to social discovery, including small appliances, headphones, cameras, laptops and accessories.
Top brands planned for the TikTok shop include Dyson, Oura, Bose and Microsoft. The retailer pointed out that the TikTok shop will give consumers another way to access Best Buy’s product lineup during the holiday season.
TikTok users can check out the retailer’s product lineup on the Best Buy shop page, as well as via a shop tab and product pages. TikTok app users can also expect to see the Best Buy product lineup incorporated into shoppable creator videos. The launch gives creators and brands a new vehicle to reach audiences, Best Buy maintained. Through the Best Buy Creator program, influencers can share their expertise, introduce followers to products and let them shop directly in the TikTok app.
The Best Buy storefront will enable shoppers to go from discovery to purchase without leaving the TikTok app, the company noted. Best Buy will fulfill orders placed directly through TikTok. Consumers can return eligible TikTok Shop purchases through Best Buy stores or mail returns to the retailer.
The TikTok shop launch gives Best Buy Ads users fresh ways of working with creators. Brands can use creator content in their campaigns to feature products, give shoppers a direct path to purchase through shoppable content and affiliate links, and extend reach through paid advertising. Ad campaigns link back to Best Buy’s first-party data and measurement systems, so brands can better understand which creators, content and products drive engagement and sales, Best Buy stated.
“Social media isn’t just influencing what people buy anymore,” said Jonathan Greer, the company vice president of e-commerce, in announcing the shop launch. “It’s shaping how they discover products, with creators playing an increasingly important role in what people notice, consider and want to try. Launching on TikTok Shop lets us meet customers at that exact moment of discovery and make it easy to shop.”
