IHA Webinar on August 13 To Examine New Less-Than-Truckload Pricing Structure

The International Housewares Association (IHA) has scheduled an upcoming webinar — “Mastering New Less-Than-Truckload Rules: How Shippers Can Navigate the Shift to Density-Based Pricing” —to discuss recent changes to the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC).

The free webinar, open to IHA members, affiliates and retailers, is set for August 13, 1-2 p.m. CT.

With the most recent change to a density-based pricing structure for Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipments being the most significant change of the past 40 years to the NMFC, Dave Bush and Ian Wole of freight and logistics service provider J.B. Hunt Transport will examine why carriers made the change and how it will impact home and housewares suppliers and retailers.

Bush and Wole will share examples of products impacted by the change and how companies can prevent increased shipping costs by learning how to calculate shipping density, documenting weights and measurements of outbound shipments on the bill of lading before they are picked up and cataloging dimensions and weights of each product as it is packaged.
