Wayfair announced that its Columbus, OH, store will debut on June 18, becoming the first to open of two planned Buckeye State operations.
Wayfair will stage a grand opening event at the Columbus store from June 26- 28, the company stated.
Wayfair’s first Ohio store is also the first smaller-format variation of the brick-and-mortar format already operating in the Chicago and Atlanta markets. At 70,000 square feet, the Columbus store was deigned to deliver the same kind of shopping experience available at the larger locations in a more efficient footprint, the company noted. The Columbus store also will act as a test-and-learn site for evaluation and future retail innovation, Wayfair reported.
Grand-opening weekend promotions will include merchandise discounts up to 70% off throughout the store, $50 gift cards handed out to the first 100 customers each day, surprise carts with freebies and savings, product giveaways, food trucks and in-store entertainment, according to Wayfair.
