Walmart is following through with projects planned across the United States after proclaiming its commitment to new stores and remodels that deliver fresh looks and enhanced merchandising.
After declaring during 2024 that it would augment the company’s store presence in the United States, Walmart is now reiterating the point, announcing that it is making a significant investment in physical retail, reinforcing the company’s commitment to the communities it serves and making shopping faster and more convenient for customers.
As such, the company has plans to remodel 650 supercenters and Neighborhood Markets in 2026. In addition, it intends to open 20 new stores in 2026 and early 2027. Projects include the expansion of the supercenter in Tucson, AZ, and the opening of a new supercenter in Celina, TX.

The new and remodeled stores offer refreshed interior and exterior styling with modern signage and store maps developed to ease sales floor navigation, as well as improved parking and landscaping, the company noted.
