As expected, Walmart is entering the fall promotional fray, announcing that its Deals event will run from October 5-11.
Walmart created a Deals & More page on its website promising up to 50% off home products, 40% off apparel and 30% off toys and food.
Beyond flagging category bargains, the company created illustrated badges, including “Fresh Deals on Home Upgrades,” promising up to 40%, and “Wellness Deals,” promising up to 20% off.
Along with the Deals teasers, Walmart is touting current discounts on the page as precursors to the main event such as, for a Ninja 8-in-1 PossibleCooker Plus 7.5-quart Multi-Cooker, Slow Cooker, Steamer and Dutch Oven at $99 down from $119, a Drew Barrymore Beautiful Five-in-One Electric Skillet, expandable Up to 7-quarts with Glass Lid at $54.56 down from $69.56, Chefman Fast Boiling 1.8-liter Electric Glass Kettle, with removable tea infuser, LED lights and stainless steel construction at $26.97, down from $29.97.
To back up the announcement on its e-commerce website, Walmart launched a social media ad featuring the faux boy band it used to promote previous events. In the video, the band highlights the event dates and featured categories —Tech, Home, Fashion & More — displayed on a gold and diamond necklace hanging from one of the members.
