Ollie’s, Burlington Celebrate National Bargain Hunting Week

This week is National Bargain Hunting Week with Burlington Stores and Ollie’s announcing their own celebrations of the event.

For its part, Ollie’s has released the results of a poll to point up the importance of bargain hunting during the week celebrating the endeavor. In research conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Ollie’s, 85% of respondents stated that they find themselves searching for deals today more than ever because of inflation, a jump from the 67% who said the same last year. Meanwhile, eight in 10 believe that finding items on sale is important in today’s economy, the company noted.

Even when they’re doing well financially, 36% of respondents said they always look for a deal, and 87% said they’ll carry money-saving habits with them forever. Then, 45% noted that they’re less likely to purchase an item if it’s full price, which increased from just 25% in research conducted a year prior. On average, respondents said an item needs to be at least 36% off for them to consider it a bargain, and one in five needs the item to be 50% off or more to be motivating.

In its efforts for the occasion, Burlington is running a National Bargain Hunting Week Sweepstakes. The company is asking consumers to follow Burlington and share their finds on Instagram @BurlingtonDeals to enter for a chance to win one of five $100 Burlington gift cards, which will be awarded at random during the week. As part of the promotional activity, consumers also can sign up for a Burlington private label credit card and get twice the points on spending during a limited-time offer, and they can get a $10 bonus gift card when they purchase one at $75 or higher.
