Office Depot Promises 15-Minute Order Pickup

Posted In: Retail Articles

Office Depot has launched what it’s calling the 15-Minute Pickup Promise for customers at the company’s namesake and OfficeMax stores across the United States.

The ongoing battle over who can claim the quicker order-to-delivery times, including pickup and to-the-door drop off, continues to rage at retail as Amazon highlights faster same-day and next-day services to smaller cities, towns and rural communities. Meanwhile, in a second-quarter conference call, Walmart CEO Doug McMillon made a point of customer satisfaction with the company’s shorter delivery times.

For Office Depot’s part, the accelerated pickup guarantee means customers can claim qualifying online or mobile orders in-store or curbside in just 15 minutes. Curbside pickup is available in most stores, the ODP Corp. banner reported. To use the service, which Office Depot asserts far outpaces competitors, customers place a qualifying order online or via app. By selecting In-Store or Curbside Pickup at least one hour before store closing times, they can pick up merchandise in 15 minutes after ordering. If an order isn’t ready, customers using the 15-minute service get a $15 coupon for a next qualifying purchase made within 72 hours.

In addition to the in-store and curbside pickup, Office Depot also offers a variety of other fast fulfillment services, including same-day delivery on qualifying orders and same-day printing.

“At Office Depot, we’re committed to providing the fastest and easiest shopping experience in the nation for our customers, whether they’re wrapping up back-to-school lists or running their own small business,” said Kevin Moffitt, Office Depot president. “Our 15-Minute Pickup Promise is designed to deliver convenience and peace of mind so that customers can get what they need when they need it and focus on what matters most.”
