Office Depot Offering More Small Business Support

Posted In: Retail Articles

In support of its small business and work-at-home customers, Office Depot has rolled out a new brand platform called Imagine Success, launched a sweepstakes and revealed the results of a survey focused on woman-run small businesses.

Office Depot designed Imagine Success to help small business customers achieve their goals, the  company stated. The platform provides new, curated shopping experiences for small business, home office design advice, informative articles, customer success stories and inspirational videos, Office Depot noted. Imagine Success also offers content developed for teachers, parents and students that addresses common educational and related needs and challenges.

Imagine Success has been rolling out online at officedepot.com and in Office Depot and OfficeMax stores.

In support of the Imagine Success platform rollout, through April 6, business owners and other professionals can enter Office Depot’s Success In the Making contest and share stories about their work and achievements. Winners receive a $500 Office Depot OfficeMax merchandise card.

Office Depot’s Second Annual Women’s Small Business Survey, which polled 1,000 female small business owners, revealed that 2022 was a stressful year for women who are pursuing entrepreneurial careers. In the survey, 63% of those women who opened their business prior to 2022 said the past year was the most challenging for their operations so far. Challenges included fatigue, finding employees, funding and marketing. However, 70% of respondents said they enjoy being their own bosses, and nearly three quarters said their work-life balance has improved since opening their own businesses.

As for operating, 55% of women surveyed reported that they run their businesses primarily from home, which can mean a substantial investment in building a dedicated at-home workspace. One in five respondents said they’ve invested more than $5,000 of their own money in at-home equipment and tools to help run their business, with purchases including laptops, at 36%, printers, at 35%, and software programs, at 24%. Over the next year, respondent top goals are to grow profits, at 59%; gain more customers, at 53%; and expand their businesses, at 28%.

“The last few years have demonstrated that it’s possible to start, run and grow a successful business from home with the right products, services and solutions,” said Kevin Moffitt, ODP Corp. executive vice president and Office Depot president.  “We’re committed to helping these entrepreneurs get everything they need to succeed, while also providing quick and convenient pickup and delivery options, plus ways to save.”
