Ocean State Job Lot continued its expansion initiative by signing leases for four new store locations expected to open in 2026.
The new Ocean State stores are set for Middletown, NY, Glassboro, NJ, Phoenixville, PA, and Prince Frederick, MD.
Ocean State intends to open the stores, all taking over former Big Lots locations, after Labor Day during the third or fourth quarter. The Middletown location weighs in at 46,800 square feet and will be one of the company’s largest stores in New York, where it operates 18 locations, the company pointed out. The Glassboro store will occupy 40,000 square feet and be Ocean State’s 12th location in New Jersey. The Phoenixville store will come in at 29,525 square feet and be the company’s 14th location in Pennsylvania, while the Prince Frederick store will come in at 38,322 and join Ocean State locations in Chester and Glen Burnie, MD.
“These new locations are a big win for us and for shoppers in these neighborhoods,” said Mark O’Connor, Ocean State director of real estate. “We know customers want to make their dollars go further while still getting the brands they trust, and that’s what Ocean State Job Lot is all about. We can’t wait to open the doors of these former Big Lots stores and show new shoppers the unbeatable mix of value and variety we’re known for.”
