Ocean State Job Lots Continues Expansion With New Marketing Chief

Ocean State Job Lot has appointed Luke Estep chief marketing officer as it continues expansion in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic United States.

Estep will help lead corporate marketing strategy as OSJL continues strengthening its position as the home of “Crazy Deals,”  deepening customer engagement and delivering value messaging to consumers, the company stated. Estep previously was vice president of marketing at Grocery Outlet, for which he led marketing strategy and digital growth initiatives. Prior to that, he held leadership positions at Big Lots.

Estep’s appointment comes as Ocean State Job Lot continues building out its businessOn March 7, the retailer announced it had opened a 43,000-square-foot store in New Castle, DE, the company’s third location in the state. The New Castle opening followed the debut of a 34,000-square-foot store in Glen Burnie, MD, announced February 21, the retailer’s  fifth location in that state. In addition, on April 2, Ocean State Job Lot held a company-wide hiring event at all stores. 

Founded in 1977, Ocean State Job Lot  is a privately held discount retail chain operating about 175 stores in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware, the company indicated, and generating annual sales exceeding $900 million.
