For the five-week fiscal month of March, Costco Wholesale Corp. reported net sales of $28.41 billion, up 11.3% from the year-earlier period.
March included one fewer shopping day than in 2025 due to the Easter calendar shift, the company pointed out, which negatively impacted both total and comparable sales by 1.5%.
In a conference call, Costco stated that U.S. comp traffic for March was up 0.7%. U.S. regions with the strongest comp sales were the Southeast, Midwest and Los Angeles. By merchandising category, Non Foods comps were up in the mid to high single digits, with jewelry, majors and hardware leading. Food and Sundries comps were up in the low to mid single digits, while Fresh Foods comps were up in the mid to high single digits.
