HomeGoods has launched a “Finding Time Off” marketing program with entertainer Jennifer Hudson, describing the campaign as a new movement designed to inspire people to break free from routine fatigue and rediscover joy in everyday life.
The TJX banner commissioned a study indicating 85% of consumers in the United States want to make time for things that spark happiness, especially since only 26% of Americans are satisfied with their current routines. A simple change, such as dedicating just 15 to 30 minutes a day to a new activity, increased productivity by 50%, energy by 48% and optimism by 46%, according to the TJX study.
Hudson is helping HomeGoods spotlight the power of taking meaningful breaks. The “Finding Time Off” campaign encourages people to carve out time for the things that fulfill them, including spontaneous trips to HomeGoods for new inspiration.
To bring the movement to life, the retailer noted, HomeGoods is featuring giveaways on its Instagram channel May 8 through 16:
- Dream Weekend Getaway. A weekend retreat to recharge and pursue a passion, culinary, spa or crafting, plus a HomeGoods gift card for the winner and their guest.
- Personalized Room Makeover. A transformation of a chosen space in partnership with a HomeGoods design expert.
- Private Shopping Spree. An exclusive before-hours shopping spree with a $1,000 HomeGoods gift card.
HomeGoods also will randomly award Instagram posters on its channels a $500 HomeGoods gift card to find personal in-store treasures.
In addition, HomeGoods brand ambassadors will hit the streets in select cities to hand out what the retailer calls “Finding Time Off permission slips” encouraging people to take well-deserved breaks from routine, such as exploring HomeGoods stores and stepping away to enjoy their days in unexpected ways. Locations and activation dates and locations include New York City, Tuesday, May 13; Boston, Wednesday, May 14; and Miami, Thursday, May 15.
“At HomeGoods, we believe joy is often found in the little moments, like discovering the perfect candle, refreshing a cozy corner of your home, or stumbling upon something unexpected that makes you smile,” said Samantha Kussmann, HomeGoods manager of marketing, HomeGoods. “That’s why we created this movement called ‘Finding Time Off.’ We want to invite and inspire people to take a break from their busy lives and reconnect with the things that bring them joy.”
