Costco Gains in June With Strong U.S. Home Furnishings Comps

Costco Wholesale Corporation reported net sales of $29.24 billion for the retail month of June, the five weeks ended July 5, up from $26.44 billion in the 2025 period.

Comparable sales gains without the effects of fuel price and foreign exchange volatility were 7% for the company overall year over year, Costco reported. Stores in the United States were up 7.6%, those in Canada were up 4.9% and those in other international markets were up 5.6%. Digitally enabled comps advanced 21.5%.

In a conference call, Costco noted comp traffic was up 3.2% in the U.S. Strongest markets on a geographic basis were the Midwest, Southeast and Northeast. In terms of merchandise categories, non-foods were up mid- to high-single digits in June, with jewelry, home furnishings and majors leading. Food and Sundries were up in the low- to mid-single digits. Fresh Foods were up mid-single digits, Costco noted.
