Amazon is launching new tools in its Seller Central function that enable marketplace operators to connect orders, listings, profitability analysis and more across Amazon, eBay, Shopify, TikTok and Walmart.
More than 95% of independent sellers on Amazon’s site sell across multiple online retailers, with the same product appearing as separate listings on Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Walmart and TikTok, as well as a seller’s own address, each governed by its particular dashboard, rules and blind spots. Managing orders, listings and analytics across sites can be labor-intensive, Amazon pointed out, and it pulls sellers away from developing products and serving customers.
To simplify things, Amazon is providing multisite selling tools on Seller Central that give marketplace retailers a single home base for managing listings, orders, and profitability across other operations. With the new tools, marketplace operators can connect their eBay, Shopify, TikTok and Walmart accounts to Seller Central, with more channels coming, Amazon asserted.
In addition, Amazon is giving sellers an even smarter Seller Assistant and a new plugin for Amazon Quick and Anthropic’s Claude. Marketplace operators can now automate routine tasks 24/7 with Seller Assistant and bring their Amazon data and Seller Central insights into the AI tools they already use.
According to Amazon, sellers have told the company they want to create and manage their listings in one place. Up until now, Amazon sellers had to log in and create a new listing for every website where they wanted to sell, rewrite content to meet every channel’s unique formatting requirements and manually publish each version. With the new Amazon tools, sellers can work with a description once on the Manage Products page and update the content everywhere it’s live. The tool automatically formats the updated description to fit each channel’s requirements, so sellers can focus on crafting the right message instead of spending time addressing each website’s specifications.
The new selling tool will roll out gradually to sellers operating through Amazon’s store in the United States over the coming months at no additional cost.
