Amazon Fall Prime Day Runs October 10-11

Posted In: Retail Articles

Amazon announced Fall Prime Day will take place October 10 to 11, showcasing what the company said are some of its best holiday deals.

As major retailers have launched initiatives to capture and even encourage early holiday shopping, Amazon has gone to market aggressively as it seeks to set the tone for the year-end selling season. Already, Amazon is throwing a spotlight on brands it will feature for the October Prime members-only promotion including Dyson, Sony, Barbie, SharkNinja, iRobot, LG, Peloton, Jabra, and Betty Buzz by Blake Lively. Prime members will also have access to deals from independent sellers such as Ruggable x Jonathan Adler, Urban Decay, and PicassoTiles. Amazon also is working with its Buy with Prime third-party sellers so that shoppers can get up to 40% off directly from brands including Wyze, KNOW Beauty and Targus. Amazon is organizing deals from those and other Prime-connected brands in one virtual place: buywithprime.amazon.com/shoppers.

Amazon is calling this sales event Prime Big Deal Days and plans to launch it at 3 a..m. eastern time on October 10. The name differentiates the summer Prime Day event from the version that ran in July as well as last year’s fall event, one that Amazon dubbed Prime Early Access.

For this year’s big fall promotion, Amazon will offer shoppers personalized recommendations based on past purchases, browsing history and items saved to their lists, the company maintained. It will drop new deals as often as every five minutes during select periods throughout the event across a wide product assortment with fast and convenient delivery options.

Amazon will help guide consumers who want to support small businesses with a badge identifying them and with a new small business filter, the company noted. As such, consumers can shop products from the many small business brands and artisans in Amazon’s store and enjoy early season holiday deals from companies such as Lyrically Correct, Beard Club, RMS Beauty, Kreyol Essence and Mighty Paws. Amazon intends to feature Black-owned, women-owned, military-family-owned and other small business brands and independent artisans at amazon.com/smallbusinessdeals.

In a direct pitch to seasonal shoppers, Amazon has rolled out a holiday shop offering low prices on essentials and unique gift items including hosting, home décor and matching apparel products, not to mention toys, at amazon.com/holiday.

Amazon is working with influencers to create curated shopping lists that give consumers another way to shop. The influencers involved include Claudia and Margo Oshry of Girl with No Job and The Toast, and Olivia Culpo. They will host livestreams on amazon.com/live, with corresponding downloadable content rolling out on the Fire TV Amazon Live Shopping app. In addition, customers in the U.S. will find influencer picks on Inspire, a personalized feed of shoppable videos and photos within the Amazon Shopping app.

“We’re giving our Prime members yet another way to save, with deals on some of the most wanted gifts of the season,” said Jamil Ghani, vp of Amazon Prime in introducing the October sales events. “Members can shop deals across categories like fashion, home, and toys that include some of our most popular items during Prime Big Deal Days. They can also take advantage of other exciting Prime member benefits like shopping favorite brands beyond Amazon.com with Buy with Prime and accessing doorbuster deals with invite-only deals.”
