Walmart Revives Deals for Days Black November Promotion

Posted In: Retail Articles

Last year, Walmart changed how it approached Black Friday, creating a raft of promotions that rolled out before the traditional date, and this year, it announced, the company will again have a month-long savings initiative under the title Black Friday Deals for Days while adding something extra for its Walmart+ members.

Of course, last year, as the holidays approached, Walmart had to cope with complications related to the COVID-19 pandemic while this year, its supply chain bottlenecks that challenge holiday operations further complicate matters. In both cases, however, retailers recognized that spreading out shopping could help smooth out what otherwise could be wrinkles that would make delivering a positive consumer experience more difficult.

So, Walmart’s second annual Black Friday Deals for Days events will offer bargains customers expect from the most anticipated shopping day of the year, Walmart stated, combined with a safe, convenient shopping experience. Deals begin online on November 3 and start in stores on November 5. During Deals for Days season, Walmart shoppers will discover savings on new items from brands, including Samsung, Reebok, Apple and Keurig as well as deals on hundreds of exclusive items that can only be found at Walmart and Walmart.com.

This year, paying Walmart+ members will get early access to three online Black Friday events scheduled throughout November. They will get the chance to shop the events four hours earlier than the scheduled start times for each.

The first event kicks off at Walmart.com on Wednesday, November 3 at 7 p.m., eastern time, 3 p.m. for Walmart+ members, when customers can purchase items such as a 55-inch TCL 4K Roku TV for only $228, the L.O.L. Surprise! Amazing Surprise Doll set for just $64 and the popular Keurig K-Compact for $35, Walmart noted. Event 1 also features Walmart tire bargains including Goodyear tires at $20 off with a free tire balance. Deals continue in stores starting Friday, November 5 at 5 a.m. local time.

Next, online starting on November 10 at 7 p.m. eastern time, 3 p.m. for Walmart+ members, through November 12 in stores, Walmart’s second event will bring customers discounts across categories including apparel, home goods, hardlines such as a  Blackstone 22-inch Griddle with a hard cover and carrying case for $117, Walmart’s exclusive lightweight and powerful HP i3 Laptop for $279, and a Shark EZ Robot Vacuum for $288.

Walmart did not provide details on event number 3.

“We continue to build Walmart+ to be the ultimate life hack for our customers,” said Janey Whiteside, Walmart U.S. chief customer officer, in announcing the Deals for Days program. “That means we’re there for our customers during the everyday with key benefits like free unlimited delivery from stores and free shipping with no order minimum, but it also means we create extra excitement for them during the big moments, like Black Friday. We’re excited for our Walmart+ members to be first in line for the hottest Black Friday deals out there.”

Walmart added that, even if Black Friday events start in November, the company already is offering deals designed to help consumers get ready for the holidays such as a Ninja 4-quart Air Fryer at $69 and a 55-inch TCL Smart 4K UHDTV at $298.
