Von Maur Department Stores announced plans to open a new anchor location in Freehold, NJ, with a debut slated for fall 2027.
The three-level 164,000-square-foot Freehold Von Maur will replace a Nordstrom store.
Von Maur noted the Freehold store will be its first in New Jersey and will boost the company’s presence in the Northeast. Von Maur already operates one location in New York State and one in Pennsylvania. Opened in 2024, the Keystone State’s Pittsburgh location was the company’s 38th. This year, Van Maur opened its 39th store in Fargo, ND.
Freehold will become Von Maur’s 40th store overall. To complement its growth initiative, Von Maur is investing $100 million in a five-year renovation program covering existing stores, the company pointed out.
