Rural King, celebrating its 65th anniversary this year, is opening its 11th Pennsylvania store this week, in the town of Indiana.

The Indiana, PA, Rural King store follows the recent opening of a Rural King location in Altoona, PA, and it will give Rural King nearly 140 stores in 14 midwestern and southern states.

In Indiana, grand opening festivities are set for Friday, August 15, through Sunday, August 17, with Rural King specials and set for an array of products across the store. RK Rewards loyalty members shopping the opening will earn double points on qualifying purchases and can enter to win one of 100 $25 gift cards, Rural King stated.

The new Indiana, PA,  location incorporates features designed to enhance the shopping experience, including mobile and self-checkouts, while maintaining the personal touch that defines Rural King’s customer service, the retailer reported.

“We’re proud to open our 11th store in Pennsylvania and look forward to becoming part of the Indiana community,” said Steve Barbarick, Rural King CEO. “Our goal is to provide our neighbors with the best products at the lowest prices while delivering the friendly, knowledgeable service they deserve. We’re here to help hardworking families and farmers get what they need to keep moving forward.”

In a chainwide initiative, Rural King has kicked off a 65th anniversary celebration through August 20. As part of the event, customers can enjoy exclusive in-store events and promotions, including complimentary hot dogs every Saturday, weekend bucket sales, sweepstakes giveaways and loyalty rewards for RK Rewards members who shop during the event.

“My great-uncle Kermit and his partner Keith started Rural King with a passion to serve a great agricultural community that lacked access to the supplies they needed to run their family farms,” said Alex Melvin, owner and chairman of Rural King. “Kermit loved the community, and he wanted nothing more than to serve them well so they could live the rural lifestyle he appreciated so much.
