Newsweek and Statista have partnered to release their first annual ranking of America’s Most Trusted Companies, some of which observers might expect to appear and others that might not have been anticipated.
The rankings include publicly traded corporations based in the United States across 22 industries, as defined by Newsweek and Statista, that generate $500 million or more in annual revenues. The partners surveyed 50,000 U.S. residents, asking about corporations they knew well and if they believed individual companies treated their customers fairly, treated their employees fairly and would be good long-term investments, among other factors. The rankings arrive as a list of 400 most trusted companies with different depths as compiled from the 22 industries considered, they noted.
The top 10 most trusted companies in the Retail category are:
- Barnes & Noble Education
- United Natural Foods
- Southeastern Grocers
- Kroger
- Amazon
- Kirkland’s
- Ulta Beauty
- Sonic Automotive
- Tractor Supply
- Costco
Following were Grocery Outlet, Albertsons Cos., Haverty Furniture Cos., Petco, Burlington, Joann, Target, Ross Stores, Weis Market, Dick’s Sporting Goods, 1-800-Flowers, Hibbett Sports, Ingles Markets, SpartanNash, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Casy’s, TJX Cos., Williams-Sonoma, PriceSmart, Walmart, Etsy and Dollar Tree.
America’s most trusted companies list in the Appliances & Electronics category included nine names:
- Whirlpool
- Sonos
- iRobot
- Lowe’s Cos.
- Hamilton Beach Brands
- Carrier Global
- Welbilt
- GoPro
- Kodak
