Nordstrom Adding Rack, ‘Local’ Service Outlets From California to New Jersey

Nordstrom has been busy lately opening stores, and its newest offprice location is scheduled to debut in Canton, MI, while a pair of its Local service hubs are set to welcome consumers this spring.

A 1,190-square-foot Nordstrom Local will open in San Diego on June 4, while a 1,214-square-foot Local will open in Danville on June 18. The new Nordstrom Local stores, a format focused on order pickup and returns, will be the fifth and sixth such locations operating under the banner in California.

The 35,000-square-foot Canton Nordstrom Rack will operate at New Towne Center. Nordstrom currently operates two Nordstrom department stores and five Rack locations in Michigan.

In February, Nordstrom announced it would open a 28,000-square-foot Rack store in Atlanta and a 27,000-square-foot Rack in East Brunswick, NJ, in the fall. In March, the company announced a new 25,000-square-foot Rack location in Farmington Hills, MI. Bloomingdale, IL, at 26,000 square feet, and Kennewick, WA, at 25,000 square feet. The Kennewick and Bloomingdale stores will open this fall, with the Farmington Hills location slated to debut in autumn 2027. In April, Nordstrom announced it would open a 31,000-square-foot Rack operation in McAllen, TX, this fall.
