Newegg has introduced a conversational AI shopping feature at Newegg.com/ai, expanding the retailer’s artificial intelligence capabilities for product search and shopping. The launch makes Newegg the latest retailer to embrace conversational commerce and complements its ChatGPT initiative.
By using AI Mode on the website, Newegg customers can describe what they’re looking for in plain language and refine searches through conversation. They can ask the AI assistant to swap a part, adjust a budget or prioritize different specifications without restarting the search. The assistant identifies products based on the evolving conversation while maintaining context. Items added to the cart remain accessible from a side panel, allowing customers to review purchases and check out without leaving the conversation. The assistant draws from Newegg’s live catalog, including current pricing, real-time inventory, Shell Shocker deals, Open Box listings and Combos.
Beyond the storefront, the conversational AI on-page assistant is available. Shoppers can access it from any page on Newegg.com. The on-page assistant focuses on product questions, compatibility checks and deal guidance, helping customers as they browse the storefront without interrupting their flow.
Newegg has also developed a third-party AI shopping presence. The Newegg app for ChatGPT, available in the ChatGPT Apps directory, brings the retailer’s catalog into OpenAI chatbot conversations, with the same live pricing, inventory, and deal integration available on Newegg.com.
