Macy’s has announced a year-long marketing initiative designed to position to capitalize on a 2026 that will include a couple of key anniversaries for the company.

“Celebrations Start at Macy’s” in 2026  will include immersive consumer experiences aligned with consumer occasions such as prom, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, the 50th Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks, fall fashion, the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and other important occasions, the company noted. It will proceed with storytelling, in-store events and brand-led promotions across the United States. Throughout the year, Macy’s will deliver new means and reasons to connect and celebrate both in-store and online, according to the company.

Actor Priah Ferguson and creators PresLee Faith and Jackson Harvey will help consumers in planning prom night with content that stresses  individuality and self-expression. On Saturday, March 7, shoppers at Macy’s Herald Square in New York will be able to meet  Ferguson, Faith and Harvey as they explore curated prom edits and personalize their looks. The prom promotion also will be part of Celebration Saturdays activities at 200 Macy’s across the United States and feature personal styling, live beauty demos, DJs, customization bars, and gift bags as well as “surprise-and-delight moments” intended to build excitement leading up to the big night, according to Macy’s.

In May, to mark 50 days to the 50th Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks show, the retailer will feature in-store and online promotions, as well as an opportunity to attend the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade live in New York City. Macy’s will give consumers the chance to be a part of the holiday parade celebrations by customizing confetti the company will use in the milestone cavalcade.

“Macy’s has always been at the center of big and small moments and where people come together to celebrate life’s milestones,” said Sharon Otterman, Macy’s chief marketing officer. “With ‘Celebrations Start at Macy’s,’ we’re turning retail into experience, bringing emotion, anticipation and joy into every occasion. From everyday celebrations to our most iconic traditions, Macy’s creates reasons to connect.”
