As seasons change and homeowners ready households for fall festivities and the holidays beyond, Lowe’s has struck a deal to expand home delivery with Instacart across 1,700 of its stores nationwide.
Under the arrangement, consumers will be able to order 30,000 Lowe’s items for delivery in as little as one hour. The company notes it is one of the first retailers on the Instacart App to roll out same-day and scheduled delivery for large items up to 3 feet by 3 feet by 5 feet and 60 pounds. Consumers so inclined can have small Halloween inflatables, fire pit essentials and even small portable grills delivered from a Lowe’s store to their doors this fall. They also can purchase holiday gifts such as smart home products, hand tools and electronics, along with fall accessories such as pillows, blankets and outdoor string lights, all available for as-fast-as-an-hour delivery, Lowe’s pointed out.
Lowe’s piloted Instacart same-day delivery in select markets during February, the company maintained, and now offers the service from stores across all 50 of the United States and in Washington D.C.
“Lowe’s knows how much this time of year means to our customers,” said Mike Shady, Lowe’s senior vice president of online, in announcing the deal. “Whether they are rounding out their Halloween decorating or getting started on holiday prep and gifting, we’re able to offer more products, more convenience and more value for customers as we continue to improve the shopping experience in-store and online. We’re excited to open up this new fulfillment offering across the U.S. for customers to shop for all of their project needs.”
