JCPenny beginning November 1 will offer holiday shoppers new weekly deals and doorbusters on compelling merchandise for everyone on their gift lists, the company announced, making it the latest retailer looking to get in front of the gift season and potential supply chain bottlenecks.

JCPenney also stated that it is hiring 25,000 seasonal associates to support its more than 650 locations and offering an additional $2 per hour premium pay for hourly associates in all stores every Saturday and Sunday starting November 14, continuing through December 25. It will also offer holiday premium pay on Black Friday and Christmas Eve.

The company noted that although its stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, customers can shop on jcp.com and enjoy extended hours on Black Friday starting at 5 a.m. and on weekends leading up to Christmas Day at select stores.

JCPenney’s holiday marketing campaign centers on time with family and friends and sharing joy with others, tying together deals, gift ideas, a sweepstakes and musical revelry under the banner of “Joy Comfort and Peace at JCPenney.” In the “Share the Joy” sweepstakes, customers making purchases in store or online from November 1 through December 24 can unwrap chances to win instant prizes ranging from trending home gadgets to JCPenney gift cards, along with an entry in the Grand Prize drawing for rewards including a  trip to New York City for a PUMA shopping spree.

“We know customers are looking to shop early and on their schedule this year and JCPenney’s holiday savings are designed to give them access to amazing value all season long,” said Bill Cunningham, the company’s vice president, marketing strategy. “JCPenney is the perfect place for families to enjoy shopping together because we have gifts for every generation. To add a little fun to the experience, JCPenney is giving back to gift givers themselves through the Share the Joy Sweepstakes.”
