Ikea continues to open small-format stores, with the latest debuting in Katy, TX.
The new Ikea “Plan and Order Point with Pickup” location is the second in the Houston market. The company stated the additional location would help it meet the needs of today’s consumers and become more accessible and convenient to the entire Houston market. At the smaller new location, customers can access support from Ikea experts as they plan and order home furnishings for kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as pick up online purchases.
“As we hit the ground running in 2024, we are excited to continue expanding the Ikea footprint in Houston, TX,” said Javier Quiñones, CEO and chief sustainability officer, Ikea U.S. “Ikea Katy is the first of many Plan and Order Point with Pick-up stores to open this year, and we are thrilled to be expanding this concept to reach consumers across the state of Texas.”
The opening of the Katy location came shortly after Ikea announced that it would open a new “Plan and Order Point with Pick-up” store in Charlotte, NC, this summer.
