Home Depot is marking the approach of its key spring selling season with its Spring Starts event, running March 19 through April 1, while building on its FIFA World Cup partnership with David Beckham.
Outdoor spaces are a focus of the Spring Starts events, and not just garden plants and outdoor power equipment, but also hosting essentials ranging from patio furniture to grills to cleaning supplies. Products Home Depot already is promoting include the Hampton Bay Felton Falls 7-Piece Padded Sling Outdoor Dining Set. Online. To round out the outdoor dining experience, Home Depot carries a range of melamine dinnerware online from brands such as Studio California, Certified International and Gibson Home, so is positioned as an across-the-board resource for backyards, patios, decks and poolside.
Home Depot has been adding AI capabilities that, this spring, will give consumers who visit the garden center on its website the chance to use Magic Apron artificial intelligence functionality to create a lawn care plan, support plant care and plan a yard makeover, the company pointed out.
In its partnership with the FIFA World Cup 2026, Home Depot is working with soccer club owner and former player Beckham on a promotion that, as a key component, focuses on preparing householders to watch the soccer tournament in their outdoor spaces.
As part of the effort, Home Depot is inviting fans to official FIFA Fan Festivals, where they can experience Beckham’s Backyard. The immersive Beckham-inspired initiative demonstrates how fans can prepare to host their own outdoor watch parties.
The FIFA/Beckham promotion kicks off with a World Cup Sweepstakes, awarding one participant a $10,000 Home Depot gift card to get their backyard World Cup-ready, Home Depot noted, along with a trip package for two to attend the World Cup Final in New York. Fans can also receive an Official FIFA World Cup 2026 adidas scarf with the purchase of select Makita power tools. And parents can sign up their younger fans for soccer-themed Home Depot workshops.
“Spring is when homeowners and Pros head back outside and start tackling the projects they’ve been planning all winter,” said Billy Bastek, Home Depot executive vice president of merchandising, in announcing the company’s fling into spring. “We’re offering the best in innovation, value and inspiration to help our customers tackle every item on their to-do list.”
