Crate & Barrel is rolling out an exclusive cooking and entertaining product collaboration with chef and restaurateur Daniel Humm that marries his minimalist sensibilities with the retailer’s traditional design.
Humm Hospitality Group owns Eleven Madison Park in New York City, ranked as the world’s top restaurant by UK media company William Reed. Swiss-born Humm (pictured above), known for his plant-based cooking, in 2024 was appointed a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for his advocacy of sustainable food systems.
The Daniel Humm collection for Crate & Barrel draws inspiration from Humm’s appreciation for Bauhaus design, and every piece reflects his eye for detail, Crate & Barrel noted. Featuring more than 30 items, pieces in the collection include the Montreux Wine and Champagne Glasses, hand blown by a team of nine expert glassmakers in Portugal; and the Japanese Clay Cooking Pot. The collection is in stores and online.
“Chef Daniel’s dedication to artistry, on the plate and in his restaurant, brings a fresh and modern perspective to kitchen design and setting a table,” said Sebastian Brauer, Crate & Barrel senior vice president of product design. “Rooted in his deep appreciation for culinary craft, sustainability and art, this collaboration merges his visionary approach with our design expertise to create a collection that reimagines the beauty and ritual of home cooking.”
