Bed Bath & Beyond Names Gomez Chief Merchant as Lemonis Retires from Camping World

Bed Bath & Beyond appointed Nora Gomez as its chief merchandising officer, while, in a related development, Marcus Lemonis, Bed Bath & Beyond’s executive chairman and principal executive officer, announced his retirement from the leadership of Camping World.

After retirement from his position as Camping World chairman and CEO on January 1, 2026, Lemonis will serve as co-founder and special advisor to the recreational vehicle sales and services company.

Gomez will head up merchandising for Bed Bath & Beyond and its family of brands, including buybuy Baby, Overstock and Kirkland’s Home, driving unified product strategy and accountability across the entire portfolio, the company noted. Prior to joining Bed Bath & Beyond, Gomez served as chief merchandising officer at Nebraska Furniture Mart.

“This is a major addition as we enter 2026,” Lemonis said in announcing the Gomez appointment, adding Gomez will bring operational precision to her role, “delivering the right product in the right place at the right time while expanding customer reach, revenue and margin across every category that supports life inside the four walls of the home and the four corners of the property.”

At Camping World, upon the Lemonis retirement, Matthew Wagner, the company’s president, will become CEO, and Brent Moody, the company’s vice chairman, will become chairman.

Lemonis said, in the announcement of his Camping World retirement: “Founding and building this company has been the greatest accomplishment of my life. RVing continues to be the lifestyle of choice for millions of Americans, and this company was built to sit in the center of it all. I will continue to work closely with the board, Matt and the leadership team not only as a co-founder but as an interested advisor and meaningful long-term shareholder, always focused on value creation.”
