As it retools leadership and operations, Bed Bath & Beyond has announced two key appointments, with Mark Danzig joining as senior vp, creative, and Umesh Sripad as senior vp, digital.

The company stated that Danzig would take responsibility for delivering brand preference across the Bed Bath & Beyond, buybuy BABY, Harmon Face Values and Decorist banners. He will do so by developing content that resonates with key customer and associate segments, the company stated. Sripad’s responsibilities include driving digital business across all banners through enhanced user experiences, digital-first strategies, customer-facing technology and capabilities, and commerce.

Before joining Bed Bath & Beyond, Danzig was vp, creative at Walmart, where he led a cross-functional team devoted to developing and executing new brand architecture for the omnichannel ecosystem, including advertising, in-store visual, print and digital. He has also held leadership roles at Gap, Travelsmith, Bluelight.com, L.L. Bean and J. Crew, Bed Bath & Beyond noted.

Sripad was Ikea USA chief digital officer, leading business transformation with responsibility for product, marketing, data, technology, and operations. He has held leadership roles at Overstock, CNN Digital, The Weather Co., an IBM Business, and APN News and Media, Bed Bath & Beyond pointed out.

Of the appointments, Rafeh Masood, Bed, Bath & Beyond executive vp and chief customer officer, said, “Mark and Umesh are exceptional leaders who bring Bed Bath & Beyond a wealth of retail expertise and proven success unlocking business growth. Mark, Umesh and their teams will be instrumental for our transformation as we create powerful and inspiring brand content and deliver digital innovations that are relevant to today’s customers.”
