Amazon Kicks Off Holiday Push With Beauty Event, Seasonal Hiring Surge

Posted In: Retail Articles

Amazon is ramping up its holiday strategy, announcing the return of its annual beauty event and plans to hire 250,000 seasonal workers ahead of the 2025 shopping season.

The company just completed its Prime Big Deal Days promotion and now has scheduled the Amazon Holiday Beauty Event, a two-week initiative, to kick off on October 20.

The 2025 Holiday Beauty Event gives customers up to 40% off across skin care, makeup, hair care, fragrance, men’s grooming, wellness and personal care, where, for example, it is spotlighting Philips products. Amazon will also offer flash category deals, exclusive gift sets, and interactive Amazon Live programming.

Shoppers who check out the  Amazon Beauty will find inspiration for holiday gifting and self-care routines, the company noted, and can take advantage of limited-time deals, including:

  • October 20-21, up to 50% off makeup
  • October 22-23, up to 45% off hair care
  • October 24-25 up to 45% off health and wellness
  • October 26-27, up to 40% off personal care
  • October 28-29, up to 50% off fragrances
  • October 30-31, up to 40% off skin care
  • November 1-2, up to 50% off men’s grooming

Throughout the event, Amazon Live will host daily livestreams featuring creators and experts, including Shawty Sin, Madison LeCroy, and Roger Wh0, while providing tutorials, product demos and ongoing deal discovery. For the first time, the event will launch additional live-only versions of the company’s flash deals. So, Amazon pointed out, it rewards customers with greater savings when they shop designated products during livestreams.

To staff up for the holidays, Amazon is hiring 250,000 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees to fill positions throughout its fulfillment and transportation networks across the United States. Regular full- and part-time employees earn an average of $23 per hour with benefits, and seasonal employees can earn an average of more than $19 per hour. Amazon will post jobs weekly from October through December on hiring.amazon.com.
