Bruvi, a Los Angeles-based startup, has launched the Bruvi BV-01 brewer, a single-serve coffee system with patent-pending brewing technology and what the company calls a “coffee first” approach.

The Bruvi brewer can make seven different beverages including filter coffee, high-pressure espresso and Americanos, cold brew and matcha lattes. Bruvi’s single-serve B-Pod capsules are bio-enzyme infused to break down more rapidly in a landfill through an organic process that leaves no microplastics behind, said the company. With a large touchscreen, the coffee brewer was designed for ease of use and one-touch operation. The mobile app and WiFi connectivity allow users to remotely brew, schedule brews in advance, auto-order pods and access a personalized consumption dashboard.

“As coffee people first and foremost, our priority is to deliver truly exceptional coffee,” said Bruvi co-founder Mel Elias. “Too many single-serve coffee products on the market compromise taste and produce coffee that’s lukewarm, weak or bitter. With Bruvi, we deliver supreme taste and enhanced convenience, plus our ingenious Guilt Free Toss B-Pods to address the issues around pod disposal.”

The Bruvi Brewer includes:

  • Auto-Optimized Brewing: A built-in camera scans the pod and auto-adjusts multiple brew parameters for optimization according to the pod.
  • Hygienic Brew: Bruvi’s pods are designed so that the coffee brews inside the pod, going straight into the mug for a hygienic brew and no flavor cross-contamination.
  • Coffee Choice: According to Bruvi, the company’s B-Pods contain up to 40% more coffee than a typical capsule for full strength and smooth flavor. The B-Pods only contain verified sustainable 100% Arabica craft coffees sourced directly from producers or craft roasters.

The Bruvi Bundle containing the Bruvi brewer, a variety pack of 22 B-Pods, a water filter kit and a reusable canvas Japanese knot-style bag is available now on bruvi.com for an introductory price of $298.
