Wegman’s leads the Fortune Best Workplaces in Retail 2022 list, at least among large companies, with fashion operator Bombas heading up the small and medium company list.
Among large companies, Wegman’s is followed by Target and Sheetz. So in the ranking for 2022, a supermarket operator, mass merchant and convenience store chain head up a diverse top three. The list is one developed by Fortune based on a proprietary methodology that analyzed the survey responses from more than 72,000 employees of companies in the retail industry.
The large companies listed range from supermarkets and mass merchandisers to car dealers and bicycle sellers to White Castle Management, which handles the non-restaurant side of the business for the inventors of the slider.

The medium and small retailer list is limited to 10 and features businesses including home-focused Parachute and outdoors-focused Traeger, as well as Zoro, offering business supplies, and Babylist offering products for tykes.
