Wayfair has revealed its latest brick-and-mortar store plans, this for a large-format namesake store in Yonkers, NY, just north of New York City in Westchester County.
Wayfair intends to open the store in early 2027.
News about the Yonkers stores follows on the announcement of a metro Atlanta Wayfair store, set to debut in 2026, and the opening of the company’s first large-format namesake store in Wilmette, IL, north of Chicago, which is getting set for its first anniversary in operation. Wayfair noted that the Yonkers announcement further demonstrates Wayfair’s commitment to scaling its in-person retail presence in key markets across the country.
The 114,000-square-foot Yonkers store will feature 19 departments showcasing furniture, décor, outdoor living and home improvement products, among others, organized by style to help customers easily navigate the sales floor, the company stated. The store will also include a large assortment of Wayfair Verified items so that consumers can shop products reviewed by Wayfair for quality and value. The Yonkers store’s proximity to the Wayfair New Jersey fulfillment center will enable fast delivery of large items, the company emphasized, enhancing the convenience of the in-store experience.
In celebration of the company’s physical store initiatives, Wayfair will conduct a company-wide first anniversary event for the Wilmette store over Memorial Day weekend, which will include a sale offering up to 70% off across the company’s product assortment and an extra 10% off in-store. Each day, the first 100 customers who visit the store over Memorial Day weekend will get a slice of birthday cake and can enjoy family-friendly entertainment and prizes.
